Oilfree generation of vacuum with NT diaphragm pumps - the new technology

Application

Diaphragm pumps of the NT-series are oilfree dry running pumps for the generation of vacuum as well as the delivery and evacuation of gases and vapours. In chemical laboratories they are the more powerfull and modern alternative to water jet pumps, because they are more friendly to the environment at minimized operation and maintenance costs. Typical applications: on vacuum drying chambers, for distillation,  drying, and vacuum filtering but also as backing pump for turbo-molecular pumps, gas transfer and the like. The pumps produce little noise and vibrations and are therefore ideal for installation in sensitive devices (e.g. chemical analysis).

Advantages

There are one-, two- three- and four-stage pumps available. The vacuum performance has been increased considerably, which expands the application field for both laboratory and industrial use. The one-stage pumps are designed for an ultimate vacuum of 70 mbar, the two-stage pumps for 7 mbar, the three-stage pumps for down to 1 mbar and the four-stage pumps for 0.5 mbar. International Protection code for all NT models is IP 42 (except those with switchable dual-voltage motors). The NT pumps are designed very compact and are exceptionally quiet and smooth-running. Smooth housing surfaces (except for the two-cylinder aluminium version) make the NT diaphragm pumps easy to clean. On the whole the pumps work almost maintenance-free. All models have easily changeable valves and diaphragms.

Two versions

VACUUBRAND offers two different versions:

Aluminium version: made of aluminium, FPM and PE. They are equipped with a hose nozzle or small flange on the inlet side and with silencers on the outlet side.

  • very low leakage rate due to particularly leak-tight tubing connections. Delivers consistent performance, even after years of operation 
  • extended diaphragm lifetime due to highly flexible FPM double diaphragms with reinforced material 
  • very quiet and smooth due to compact drive with patented drive system.
  • easy to clean due to smooth surfaces

 

Chemistry version "C": Here the pumped gasses only come into contact with fluoroplastics of optimal chemical resistance, e.g. with a PTFE sandwich-diaphragm, clamping disc and head cover made of carbon reinforced ETFE with stability core, ECTFE cylinder head, perfluorelastomer valves and PTFE connections. Gas inlet and outlet with hose nozzles.

  • enhanced vacuum performance: higher pumping speed, better ultimate vacuum
  • use of fluoroplastics with optimal chemical resistance
  • extended diaphragm lifetime due to PTFE-sandwich-design and optimal diaphragm fixation
  • low-maintenance: separate diaphragm- or valve-replacement possible due to novel valve-head assembly. Easily disassembled, cleaned, with safe reassembly without need for subsequent readjustment
  • whisper quiet and very low vibration due to compact drive with patented drive system
  • easy to clean due to smooth exterior surfaces
  • high vapour tolerance due to integrated tubing connections. The types MZ 2C NT and MD 4C NT come equipped with a gas ballast valve
