Their field of activity encompasses the production and servicing of precision engineered products. They craft the relatively small components from metals and plastics, and with the use of semi-finished materials and standard parts, assemble them into devices and mechanisms, check the functionality and put them into operation. The precision engineered devices and mechanisms are in particular adjusting, load sensing and counting devices, apparatuses, manufacturing and assembly equipment, devices of office technology, devices of photo, film and video technology and medical and optical equipment. It is also their job to service and repair these devices. They work in prototype construction, in single-item and small-series production, assembly, quality control and in the service department.
