LADS (Laboratory and Analytical Device Standard) is the new manufacturer-independent communication standard for laboratory and analytical devices as well as software solutions.

LADS is a Companion Specification of OPC UA – the globally established standard for secure machine-to-machine communication from Industry 4.0 – and extends it with data models specifically designed for laboratories.

The result: True interoperability across all manufacturers and device types. The vacuum pump speaks the same language as your other laboratory devices and can be easily connected – the foundation for monitoring and automation of your vacuum processes.

All applications of the VACUU·SELECT vacuum controller can be controlled via LADS – including evacuation, vacuum control, automatic evaporation, filtration, vacuum drying, freeze drying, and Schlenk line.

With these functions, our vacuum pumps can be seamlessly integrated into central control and monitoring systems.

VACUUBRAND is continuously working on expanding LADS support. This will include functions such as authentication, transfer of applications, as well as encrypted and signed communication. Another goal is to retrofit existing devices with VACUU·SELECT vacuum controller to make them LADS-ready.

All systems and providers that support OPC UA can integrate our products with LADS interface. Currently, for example, LCC (Laboratory Control Center) from Waldner and zenLAB from infoteam are available, into which VACUUBRAND products can be easily integrated.
